#3 Clean Energy
Use Clean energy whenever possible. Eat less meat - meat production counts for up to 40% Nz emissions (some of this is export of course). Lets encourage different land-use in NZ
#1 Carbon emissions need to drastically reduce this decade.
Temperatures have risen 1.5C since pre-industrial times. This is the edge of our safe limit. We must drastically reduce our use of oil, gas and coal NOW if we are to slow the impacts of climate change. If we don't, we can expect *Up to 1.5m sea-level rise *Worsening storms, fires and droughts *species extinctions * water /food shortages.
#1 The time is Now -Al Gore.
The good news is, we have everything we need now to respond to the challenge of global warming. We have all the technologies we need, more are being developed, and as they become available and become more affordable when produced in scale, they will make it easier to respond. But we should not wait, we cannot wait, we must not wait.AL GORE .
